Gold Prospectors and Micro Miners
CBJ (Cowboy Jim) and J9 (Janine) have been striking gold across Arizona, Idaho, and everywhere in between. As die-hard outdoor enthusiasts, we kicked off our adventures with horseback riding tours in South Mountain, Arizona—the largest city park in the U.S., spanning nearly 17,000 acres of stunning Sonoran Desert landscape. We also fished and boated on Lake Saguaro, which sparked our interest in hiking and prospecting. Our passion for desert prospecting soon became our main pastime, leading us to join local clubs to deepen our knowledge and gain access to more mining and prospecting claims.

Our Involvement
Arizona: CbJ and J9 are active members in 5 gold clubs here in Arizona. Although we don't serve on any board, we volunteer our time doing reclamation and site cleanup, demonstrations and training, and video production for understaffed clubs.
Vulture City Ghost Town: We host the Panning Experience at Vulture City Ghost Town, next to the historic and currently active Vulture Mine where we teach how to pan for gold!
Gold Prospectors of America - Phoenix Chapter: CowboyJim and J9 volunteer their time creating the monthly Gold Gazette Newsletter, assist in reclaiming land left in ruin by claim jumpers, and at various outings or events when short handed. Considering joining a gold club? GPAA is a great one to sign up for - they keep and maintain claims throughout the US so you don't have to! All YOU need to do is show up and dig for that gold!
Finally, we escort people into the Arizona desert and hunt for gold! We will utlize our knowledge of the area and help people prospect for that elusive shiny. They keep the gold they find! We will also host metal detecting events, in conjunction with B-Kings Outdoors with Dylan Pritchard.
Paydirt Bags or Drawings
Interested in gold but unable to get out to find it? One of the easiest ways is to purchase a "paydirt" bag.
Definition: A Paydirt bag is a bag filled with dirt (usually cleaned) as seeded with gold. It can also contain "Bonus" items such as crystals, semi precious gems and gemstones.
2024 Plans and Development
We have hosted 5 group and patreon digs this year, with at least 1 more coming in November. Every attendee has gotten gold and enjoyed the comaraderie of fellow gold prospectors, broke bread and played gold hunting games right here in the Sonoran Desert. We have proposed and are building a gold show with Vulture City Ghost Town. They have been renovating the town all summer to present their inaugral Gold Days gold show, hosting vendors from all over the country. Featuring gold equipment and gifts, gold drawings, gifts and more! Don't miss this brand new Gold Days gold show with Vulture City Ghost Town, December 7th and 8th.
Outings: Trips where CbJ, J9 and anyone interested in learning how to pan, where to prospect, metal detect, rock hounding and more.
Games: We are in the process of researching and building online games in development to peak the interest of kids of all ages in prospecting and the old west.
